News for Tora-Con 2009:

RIT Anime Club announces date and art request for Tora-Con 2009

ROCHESTER, NY – June 30, 2008 – The Rochester Institute of Technology’s Anime Club is pleased to announce the date of their fifth annual anime convention: Tora-Con!

Tora-Con 2009 will take place April 25th, 2009 on the campus of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. It will be fully featured convention, with a dealer's room, artist alley, panels, workshops, cosplay, an AMV contest, and more.

The RIT Anime Club is also looking for artists to contribute tiger-themed and/or mascot art towards Tora-Con 2009. For more information concerning this, as well as updates on guests and pre-registration, visit the official Tora-Con website (http://toracon.rit.edu).

ABOUT TORA-CON: Tora-Con was created by the Rochester Institute of Technology Anime Club to provide family friendly anime and manga related entertainment to the Rochester area and beyond. The convention is planned and prepared by a dedicated Anime Club E-Board made up of RIT students.

ABOUT RIT ANIME CLUB: Founded in the early 1990s, the RIT Anime Club is one of the largest anime clubs in the country with over 150 active members. The purpose of the RIT Anime Club is to enrich the academic environment by stimulating the growth and appreciation of Anime as an art form as well as the awareness and understanding of Japanese Culture. The RIT Anime Club is a not-for-profit organization.
