News for Kintoki-Con 2011:

Kintoki-Con announces musical guest

Sacramento, CA - Kintoki-Con 2011 is proud to announce the debut musical performance of Moon Stream, the new musical unit of Satsuki (ex RENTRER EN SOI) and Tomo Asaha (echostream).

As the newest addition to Northern California conventions, Kintoki-Con is kicking off its first year with not only a performance by popular Japanese rock musicians, but exclusive industry-geared panels for attendees in addition to special events and autograph sessions with the band.

As ex-vocalist of popular visual kei rock band RENTRER EN SOI, Satsuki launched his solo career on Feb. 14, 2009 in order to pierce his own musical aesthetics. Satsuki has performed in America for piano concerts and anime conventions such as Anime Expo 2009, Anime Vegas 2009, and Oni-Con 2009. In addition to regularly headlining visual kei concert events in Japan, Satsuki has also performed in theater and is steadily expanding his range of activities. Since Sep. 1, Satsuki's musical themes have encompassed a fantastic world of white, an angelic clarity, and an ethereal feeling, as can be heard on his first mini-album release UPPER REGION.

Tomo Asaha began his musical career at the top of the visual kei music scene in Osaka, Japan, playing guitar for bands such as Voyage and NIL. After joining Unknown Frequency, an electronic rock band signed to GIZA Music, Tomo also began playing with artists such as Rina Aiuchi and Chocolate syrup. Unknown Frequency soon became what is now echostream, Tomo's current band based in New York. Tomo brought his vision to the United States with echostream, performing on tours and at conventions nationwide, and also as a New York underground musical force. Tomo has also performed on the Bonnie Hunt Show with Shahidah Omar. Echostream's album releases include Identity and The Duality of Courage, whose songs have been featured on the FX show Dirt.

Moon Stream joins other Kintoki-Con guests such as Takamasa Sakurai, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Richard Epcar, Ryu Moto, Yukie Dong, Mari Watanabe, and more.

Kintoki-Con is an event that focuses on bringing the convention's experience back to the culture and to the fans. In addition to celebrating Japanese culture and animation, we will embrace other cultures, such as Korean and Chinese influences. Kintoki-Con will be located at the prestigious Hyatt Regency in downtown Sacramento, California.
