News for Naka-Kon 2011:

Naka-Kon books Alsdead as musical guest

Kansas City, Mo. - The Visual Kei/Metal band ALSDEAD will perform at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in February as Naka-Kon 2011's musical guest of honor.

Formerly known as the Heavy Metal band Dice & Joker, the band incorporated the Japanese Visual Kei sound into its music in 2009 and changed its name to ALSDEAD. ALSDEAD gained popularity in Japan and the United States through streaming radio, and recently released its first full self-titled album. The band's members include vocalist Maki, guitarist Shin, bassist Reito and drummer Setsua.

About Naka-Kon

Naka-Kon Anime Convention is organized and operated by approximately 100 uncompensated staff members, many of whom are students and most of whom live in the greater Kansas City area. Naka-Kon was first held in 2005 at the University of Kansas Memorial Union in Lawrence, Kan. In 2010, nearly 4,000 attendees gathered at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo. for a three-day, paid convention. Naka-Kon 2011 will be held at the Hyatt Feb. 18 - 20.
