News for Anime Expo 2010:

Anime Expo announces Japanese musical artists Megumi Nakajima and May'n

Anaheim, CA – May 19, 2010 – Anime Expo® is pleased to announce today that Japanese musical artists, Megumi Nakajima and May'n, will be official Guests of Honor at its July convention. Anime Expo, North America's largest anime and manga convention, is scheduled for July 1 – 4, 2010, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Megumi Nakajima and May'n will perform together on Friday afternoon, July 2, in Nokia Theater as well as participate in guest panels and autograph sessions. Anime Expo attendees will have the opportunity to see both duet and solo acts from the two artists. A mystery guest will also join them on stage for a surprise performance.

Megumi Nakajima entered the industry with the ambition to spread her love of music to her fans worldwide. She is most known for her role as Ranka Lee in the anime series, Macross Frontier. Ms. Nakajima also performed the theme song for the popular anime, as well as various other songs featured on the soundtrack. In addition to her work in Macross Frontier, she has also lent her voice acting and singing talents to the anime titles Kobato and Kämpfer.

Since her debut in 2005, May'n has made her mark in the industry as an accomplished musical artist. She found fame when she was chosen to be the singing voice for Sheryl Nome in Macross Frontier. Since landing that role, May'n has released several hit songs as her Macross Frontier character, including Diamond Crevasse and Lion. She has also performed theme songs for the anime titles Shangri-La and the upcoming series Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi.

Megumi Nakajima and May'n join Anime Expo's 2010 line-up along with manga artist Rei Hiroe; musical artist MELL; supergroup AKB48; voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi; Eden of the East trio Kenji Kamiyama, Satoru Nakamura and Tomohiko Ishii; voice actor Kyle Hebert; animation director Toshihiro Kawamoto; seiyuu Yuu Asakawa; J-rock band Sophia; and anime director Shinichi "Nabeshin" Watanabe.
