Biography:
Daniel holds a degree in Imaging and Digital Art from UMBC with an emphasis on interactivity, animation, traditional film, and illustration. He has worn many hats over the years as a programmer, creative director, and animator as he helped develop two award-winning animated series; Eclipse and Chi-Chian for the scifi Channel - the later with director/musician Voltaire.

After his stint with scifi.com, he co-founded and illustrated the website ThereAndBackAgain.net, a Lord of the Rings site dedicated to visualizing the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien. It garnered numerous awards and was featured in worldwide publications such as Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide. Mr. Govar has illustrated dozens of book covers and his artwork has graced media of all formats.

In 2008, Daniel won the DC Comics, ZUDA competition with his popular Azure comic, which was picked up for 2 seasons. He has worked on properties such as NBC's Grimm for Dynamite, many of Marvel's titles including Punisher, Spider-man, Wolverine, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Avengers, Ant-man, etc., and Amazon's So Dark Vampire series. He has also helped create new properties such as Relaunch with former Marvel and DC executive Ron Perazza, and Lovecraft with SyFy's Z-Nation co-creator, Craig Engler.

Most recently, Daniel has self-published a children's book: Mr. Trunk Builds a Wall, a Graphic Novel (Tuskers)with writers Javier Barrios and Marc Gaffen(Grimm, New Amsterdam), and a 200 page artbook comprising 200 of his daily illustrations.

Daniel is a regular at 15 conventions throughout the U.S. doing live art and traditionally and digitally.
