Biography:
Sheldon Bueckert is a Canadian born visual artist who got his start in the early 1980's. Currently residing in Calgary AB, Sheldon started his art fascination with painting and drawing the local landscapes in Alberta and BC. His early influences were Robert Bateman, the Group of Seven and his art college professor, Canadian renowned artist Robert Moore. Sheldon volunteered his early time at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, located in Red Deer, where he helped create and curate one of their first art exhibits in the Majorie Wood Gallery entitled "The Art of Nature".

Sheldon and his wife Donna moved to Calgary, in the late 1980's, where he started a career in graphic arts and commercial print. As his career in graphic arts grew he only dabbled in traditional arts, creating only a limited amount of oil and acrylic landscapes.

In 2012, Sheldon returned to his art and long time passions for science fiction, fantasy and pop culture. Diving back into it he started creating paintings and art prints for the growing Comic Con conventions around Canada.

Today, Sheldon, along with his pop culture art, is a published comic cover artist with works that have been published by comic companies such as Image Comics, Boom! Studios, and Aftershock Comics just to name a few. His future plans include creating more original art, branching out to more North America galleries and comic conventions and the beginning of a new style of art gallery.
