Anime Mid-Atlantic announces Japanese cosplay model Yunmao Ayakawa

Richmond, Virginia - April 20th, 2006 - Anime Mid-Atlantic is proud to announce our newest guest of honor, Professional Cosplay Idol: Yunmao Ayakawa

For the first time in the US, Professional Cosplay Idol: Yunmao Ayakawa

Yunmao is a very popular professional Cosplay Model from the Akihabara region of Tokyo, Japan. Known as a "Cosplay Idol" in Japan, Yunmao's abilities as an accomplished designer, spokesperson and Race Queen Idol in Japan has made her an authority on the subject of Costume Play. She has appeared in many TV programs both in Japan and overseas speaking about and showcasing her skills. She was a regular in "Moete Mucho" from Oct 2005 to March 2006 (TV Tokyo), a spokesperson on "Japanorama" (BBC), and "Otaku," (Spain).

Yunmao's American debut will add to her many appearances in Japanese magazines like "Flash," "Sabra," "Arms magazine," and "Position," a magazine in which she writes a monthly column. She was also chosen as Race Queen for 2005 & 2006 for the Super Taikyu race in Japan. Yunmao's popularity has also made her a Top Idol download for Japanese cell phone screensavers, games and even a "Dear Abby" style advice service via cell phones.

Yunmao is also a sought after designer for costume's used for Japanese TV show's, cosplayer's and race queen models. She was commissioned to illustrate characters for the Japanese Television program Moete Mucho and also has a license to teach Art in schools in Japan.

Anime Mid-Atlantic is a Regional Anime convention held once a year in Richmond, Virginia in the month of June. It has a growing attendance and is quickly becoming one of the top anime conventions in the area. It has a close working relationship with other conventions such as Katsucon, Magfest, and Nekocon and is expanding its programming to include Asian cultural events.
